Teaching Assistant – Sefton
Location: Maghull/Formby/Southport
Start: November 2026
Daily rate: £92.59 – £110, dependent on experience.
CER Education are looking for Teaching Assistants to support Primary schools across Sefton and the surrounding Liverpool area’s starting from November 2026.
This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys supporting children with their development and wants to play an active role in helping pupils feel confident in the classroom. Whether you have previous school-based experience or are looking to move into education, CER can offer flexible day-to-day supply work as well as longer-term placements to fit around your availability and career goals.
Role responsibilities:
- Supporting the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities, pupil routines, transitions and supervision where needed.
- Working with individual pupils and small groups to encourage participation, focus and progress during lessons.
- Helping to set up learning materials, organise classroom resources and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning space.
- Providing additional 1:1 support for children with SEND or other learning needs, helping them to build confidence, independence and engagement.
Preferred skills:
- Experience working with children or young people in a school setting would be advantageous.
- A relevant childcare, education or supporting teaching and learning qualification would be useful but is not required.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to complete a new DBS application through CER.
