Caretaker

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
Duration: Immediate start until 23rd October initially, with the potential for extension

One of our partner school’s in DN16 are seeking a reliable and proactive Temporary Caretaker to join their site team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker, facilities assistant, site supervisor, or maintenance operative looking to work within a school environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Site security, including locking and unlocking gates and buildings
• Porterage duties across the school site
• Carrying out small DIY and maintenance repairs
• Ensuring all contractors on site adhere to school policies and procedures
• General cleaning and tidying as and when required
• Responding to and dealing with fire alarm activations when necessary
• Completing weekly compliance and health & safety checks

Essential Requirements

• Previous caretaking, maintenance, facilities, or site management experience
• Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (or willingness to undergo a new check)
• Current training in:
  • Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)
  • Prevent Duty
  • Allergens in Education
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures
• Ability to work independently and use initiative
• Reliable, trustworthy, and professional approach
