Location: Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire
Contract: Flexible / Supply
Hours: Full‑time or part‑time, term time
Salary: £90-£120 per day (dependent on experience)

The Role

We are seeking confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools in Welwyn Garden City. This role involves supervising classes during the short‑term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain on task and that a positive learning environment is maintained.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers or experienced school staff looking to gain further classroom experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during teacher absence using pre‑set work
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Ensure students remain focused and engaged with tasks provided
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
• Support pupils with questions relating to the work set
• Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

• Confident and professional in a classroom setting
• Calm, organised and able to manage behaviour effectively
• Strong communication skills
• Reliable, punctual and flexible
• Holds a full UK driving licence (preferred)
• Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential – training will be provided
