Cover Supervisor – Wirral
Start Date – ASAP
Pay – £100 – £130 per day.
Are you looking for a rewarding role in education that offers variety and flexibility? We are seeking motivated and confident individuals to work as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across the Wirral.
This is an ideal opportunity for graduates considering a career in teaching, or for those with experience in coaching, youth work, or military backgrounds who are looking to transition into a classroom environment. Unlike a teaching role, there is no requirement for planning, marking, or setting work-your focus is entirely on managing the classroom and supporting students.
Classroom Supervision: Leading a classroom in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students stay on task with the work provided.
Behaviour Management: Maintaining a calm and productive learning environment by following the school’s behaviour policy.
Student Support: Answering general questions and helping pupils navigate their assigned tasks.
Safety & Wellbeing: Ensuring the safety of all students during the lesson and at the end of the day.
Confidence: The ability to stand in front of a group of teenagers and command respect with a firm but fair approach.
Adaptability: A proactive attitude and the ability to think on your feet in different school settings.
Experience: Previous experience working with young people (aged 11-16) is highly desirable, though not always essential for the right candidate.
Communication: Excellent verbal skills and the ability to build quick rapport with staff and students alike.
Flexibility: Work as much or as little as you like-perfect for balancing other commitments.
Experience: Gain invaluable “on the tools” classroom experience before applying for a PGCE or teaching qualification.
Support: Access to local schools with friendly staff and dedicated consultants who know the Wirral area inside out.
