Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Location: Durham

Salary: £95 – £115 a day

Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (June 2025 – July 2026)

Seeking a reliable and confident Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team at a Secondary School within Durham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in education, classroom experience, or considering a future in teaching.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences
• Ensure students remain on task and follow the school’s behaviour expectations
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively, responding to incidents in line with school policy
• Collect completed work and provide basic feedback to the relavant teachers
• Support students in understanding tasks where possible and appropiate
• Act as a positive role model and uphold the school’s value and ethos

Requirements

• Recent experience working with children (e.g. in a school, youth work, tutoring, sports coaching)
• Flexible, reliable, and professional attitude
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
