Teaching Assistant – West Lancashire

Location: Ormskirk/Skelmersdale and surrounding area’s.
Start date: November 2026
Daily rate: £92.59-£110, dependent on experience

CER Education are seeking reliable Teaching Assistants to work with Primary schools across West Lancashire and surrounding Liverpool area’s from November 2026.

Whether you already have experience in a school or are looking to begin a career in education, CER can offer flexible day-to-day supply work and longer-term placements that match your availability and career goals.

Job responsibilities:

• Prepare learning materials, organise classroom resources and help maintain a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.
• Support individual pupils and small groups to improve their focus, participation and progress during lessons.
• Assist the class teacher with daily activities, pupil routines, transitions and supervision.
• Provide one-to-one support for children with SEND or other learning needs, encouraging confidence, independence and active engagement.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience working with children or young people in a school, childcare, care, coaching or support setting is advantageous.
• A relevant qualification in childcare, education or supporting teaching and learning is desirable but not essential.
• An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to complete a new DBS application through CER.
