Behaviour Support Assistant – Luton
£95-£115 per day | Flexible & Ongoing Work | Immediate Starts Available
CER Education are recruiting experienced Behaviour Support Assistants to work with schools in Luton and the surrounding areas.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have previous experience supporting children or young people with behavioural challenges and can confidently build positive relationships, manage challenging situations and help pupils remain engaged in their education.
Experience gained within schools, SEND settings, alternative provision, PRUs, youth work, care or other behaviour-focused environments may be highly relevant.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour support for pupils who require additional intervention
- Support pupils displaying challenging or disruptive behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
- Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Identify potential triggers and help pupils regulate their emotions and behaviour
- Encourage positive choices, engagement and participation in learning
- Follow individual behaviour plans, support plans and EHCPs where appropriate
- Help pupils develop their confidence, resilience and social skills
- Support teachers in maintaining a safe, positive and productive classroom
- Build trusted professional relationships with pupils who may struggle within a traditional classroom environment
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams to provide consistent support

Previous behaviour support experience is important for this role.

You should also have:

- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A patient, resilient and consistent approach
- A genuine desire to help young people overcome barriers to learning
- The ability to provide suitable references for previous experience
