CER Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 7 pupil in a supportive secondary school in the Liverpool area. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to a young person’s educational journey while gaining valuable SEN experience.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 support to a Year 7 pupil
• Support the pupil’s learning, engagement and emotional wellbeing
• Work closely with teachers and the school’s SEND team
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
• Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour
• Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the pupil
• Help create a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment

Requirements

We’re looking for candidates who have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND
• A caring, patient and resilient approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations
• A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
• Teaching Assistant, care, youth work or relevant transferable experience
