The Role
As a Secondary School Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting teaching and learning across the school.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting students in the classroom to access learning and achieve their potential
- Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
- Providing one-to-one and small group support where required
- Encouraging positive behaviour and student engagement
- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND requirements
- Helping to create a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment
- Building positive relationships with students, staff and parents
- Supporting the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification or relevant experience working with young people
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive, flexible and proactive approach
- A passion for supporting student development and educational achievement
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
