Job Title: Teaching Assistant – Levelled required

Location: Doncaster, United Kingdom

Position Overview: We are looking for a dedicated Levelled Teaching Assistant with expertise in supporting students within a school setting. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating the communication and social interaction of our students, enabling them to access the curriculum, express themselves effectively, and engage fully in the learning process.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with communication difficulties, both in the classroom and during structured activities.
• Implement individualized communication plans and strategies, including the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems, visual aids, and other supportive tools.
• Support students in developing their receptive and expressive language skills, social communication, and interaction with peers and adults.
• Collaborate closely with the SENCO, teachers, speech and language therapists, and other professionals to implement and monitor individual education plans (IEPs) and communication goals.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to communicate and express themselves confidently.

Requirements:

• Teaching assistant qualification
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the communication and social development of students with diverse needs.
• Relevant qualifications and training in SEN and communication support are desirable.
