About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and reliable KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Peterlee. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible, offering an excellent opportunity to support pupils’ learning and make a real difference in the classroom.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons, provide targeted support to pupils, and help create a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in the delivery of lessons across Key Stage 2
• Work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning and boost progress
• Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning atmosphere
• Prepare learning materials and contribute to lesson planning where appropriate
• Support pupils with additional needs to ensure every child achieves their full potential

Requirements

✅ Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)

✅ Experience working with KS2 pupils in a primary school setting

✅ Excellent communication and teamwork skills

✅ A caring, patient, and proactive approach to supporting learning

✅ Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
