💷 Salary: £88.92 – £115 per day (depending on experience)

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Sunderland, supporting pupils across Key Stage 2. This is a full-time temporary position, ideal for someone passionate about helping children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

You’ll be working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons, provide targeted support to individual pupils, and contribute to creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Support the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
• Work 1:1 and in small groups to support pupils’ learning and progress
• Assist with preparing learning materials and classroom resources
• Help manage behaviour and encourage positive engagement
• Support children with additional needs where required
• Contribute to the wider life of the school community

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a primary school setting (KS2 experience preferred)
• A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
• A proactive and caring approach to supporting children’s learning
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
