Are you a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with complex emotional needs? Do you have experience working with children with Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) and a strong understanding of trauma-informed practices?

CER are seeking a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join one of our nurturing and inclusive primary schools in the S35 area of Sheffield. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who need consistency, empathy, and skilled support to thrive.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience supporting children with Reactive Attachment Disorder or similar attachment and emotional needs.
  • A solid understanding of trauma-informed approaches and how to apply them in a school setting.
  • A calm, patient, and emotionally intelligent approach to behaviour and relationship-building.
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with de-escalation strategies and restorative practices.
  • Familiarity with EHCPs and supporting children with SEND.
  • Training in Team Teach or similar positive handling strategies (desirable but not essential).
