Role – Teaching Assistant

-Key Stage 1

Start date – September 2025 – July 2026 ( Full time )

CER Education is currently looking for a qualified Teaching Assistant to provide classroom support on a One to One basis for a Year 2 pupil at a Primary School in Huyton, Knowsley.

This role is due to start in September 2025, but we are welcoming applications now.

Full-time hours working 8:30-3:30 Monday to Friday ( lunch time cover inluded )

The school is based in the heart of the Huyton community and has an on site car park, although it is easily accessible by all major transport routes. A warm, friendly staff and very supportive Key Stage 1 team are present to give advice and support your development within the role.

Job Responsibilities

– Assisting the classroom teacher with daily tasks and activities

– Supporting a pupil within Reception on a 1:1 basis, with ASD needs

– Having a positive and creative approach to behaviour and confidence building

– Keeping children focused and engaged in their learning using different tools and methods

– Providing assistance during classroom activities and lessons

– Helping to prepare teaching materials and resources

– Ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for all pupils

Preferred Skills

– Experience working in a Key Stage 1 school setting and ideally hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification ( Level 2/ Level 3 preferred )

– Understanding of OFSTED requirements

– Understanding of Safeguarding

– Have a DBS on the update service or be willing to complete and pay for a new DBS application
