Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant | ASAP Start | £95 – £110 per day

We are working with a large SEND School in the Knowsley area who are seeking to appoint a number of Teaching Assistants to start as soon as possible on a temporary but on-going basis. The school provides support to pupils aged 11 to 16 with a diagnosis of Autism. You will work with pupils across the whole school and be expected to support during lessons, lunch time and with outdoor and off-site activities. It is essential that you have a good understanding of supporting children with Autism and are familiar with Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs). It would be beneficial if you held a Team Teach certificate, however training can be provided.

The role is to start as soon as possible and will be offered on a full time basis, however we are happy to consider part time applicants with strong SEND experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant.
• Previous experience working with pupils with ASC and challenging behaviour.
• Eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident.
• At least 6 months school based experience of working in a UK SEND school setting.
• Two suitable references covering the last 2 years.
• A current DBS that is registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
• Team Teach Training.
