Teacher of Food Technology and Nutrition (Long-Term Contract)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Teacher of Food Technology and Nutrition to join a well-established secondary school in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. This role is offered on a long-term rolling contract, with the possibility of being made permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Food Technology and Nutrition across Key Stages 3 and 4, in line with the national curriculum.
  • Plan and prepare lessons that inspire creativity and develop practical culinary skills.
  • Assess and monitor students’ progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety in the classroom and kitchen environments.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting a passion for nutrition and healthy living.
  • Participate in wider school activities and contribute to the department’s growth.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience teaching Food Technology and Nutrition at secondary level.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to motivate students.
  • A commitment to promoting health and wellbeing through food education.
  • Ability to work as part of a dedicated team, supporting the school’s values and ethos.
