About the Role

As a Teacher of English, you will:

  • Teach KS3 and KS4 English, delivering creative, engaging and challenging lessons
  • Plan and deliver lessons aligned with the national curriculum
  • Track student progress and provide constructive feedback and intervention where needed
  • Contribute to English curriculum planning and development of department resources
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence, literacy, and critical thinking
  • Support English‑related school initiatives, clubs, reading interventions, and enrichment activities

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching English within a UK secondary school
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the English curriculum
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
  • Ability to drive is preferred; otherwise, reliable public transport links are essential
