About the Role
As a Teacher of English, you will:
- Teach KS3 and KS4 English, delivering creative, engaging and challenging lessons
- Plan and deliver lessons aligned with the national curriculum
- Track student progress and provide constructive feedback and intervention where needed
- Contribute to English curriculum planning and development of department resources
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence, literacy, and critical thinking
- Support English‑related school initiatives, clubs, reading interventions, and enrichment activities
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching English within a UK secondary school
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the English curriculum
- Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
- Ability to drive is preferred; otherwise, reliable public transport links are essential
