Senior Schools Data Quality Analyst

    • This role although solidly working with data has a strong leaning to customer service management and the applicant needs to demonstrate as a primary skill as well as having data analysis experience.
    • The main responsibility of this role is to analyse School Data, respond to queries, by telephone, email, completing daily Free school meal checks, contacting schools to fix any error/queries on statutory returns and having technical skills that enable response to ad hoc data requests mainly using excel.
    • You will be responsible for handling daily schools enquiries so customer experience is needed.
    • The key accountabilities of this role are to act as a point of contact and technical specialist (where appropriate) for Education and Skills management and ICT systems. Take ownershp of resolving issues speedily.
    • Provide a data management service, including uploading, data entry, data cleansing, reconciliation of data between systems.
    • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data is maintained at all times, and data is held, transferred and used in a secure manner an in accordance with local and statutory guidelines.
    • Support the administration of Education and Skills ICT systems.
    • Support users, including partners, in accessing systems by delivering appropriate advice and training to help users to get maximum added value from the systems.
    • Support the timely generation, analysis and distribution of standard and bespoke data reports in order to meet business requirements, including management information and statutory returns.
    • Prepare statutory reports accurately, on time and to format.
    • Enable and encourage service users to generate their own reports where this is judged to be a more efficient use of resources, using the data reporting tools available.
    • To develop and maintain an understanding of the service’s business processes. Keep abreast of the latest developments in current practice and technical developments.
    • Share knowledge across data and systems team to support shared understanding, best practice and information sharing.
    • Management of a small team to work to complex, tight and changing deadlines, managing conflicting priorities across a varied workforce for different service areas.
    • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data is maintained at all times, and is held, transferred and used in a secure manage and in accordance with local, corporate and statutory guidelines, developing and advising on new standards as required.
    • Be responsible for the timely and accurate submission of statutory returns such as School Census, School Workforce Census.
    • Experience working on schools data or local government data would be considered an advantage for qualifying for this role.
