Are you a dedicated SEN teacher ready to inspire and support secondary-age students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We’re looking for a passionate individual to work on a supply basis across two Alternative Provision (AP) sites in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, providing crucial support to young people facing SEMH challenges.

Role Overview: As a Supply SEN Teacher, you’ll be instrumental in creating a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment tailored to secondary-age students. Working across two AP sites, you’ll deliver a flexible curriculum that addresses both academic and social-emotional needs, helping students to build confidence, develop resilience, and foster positive behaviours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across multiple subjects, adapted to meet individual learning needs and encourage positive engagement.
  • Provide personalised support that promotes students’ social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team of teachers, SEN specialists, and pastoral staff at both Rotherham AP sites.
  • Utilise a trauma-informed approach to behaviour management, maintaining a calm and supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to foster a sense of safety, belonging, and confidence.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in supporting secondary-age students with SEMH needs.
  • Deep understanding of the unique challenges and rewards associated with Alternative Provision education.
  • Excellent communication, resilience, and adaptability to meet students’ diverse learning and behavioural needs.
  • Ability to inspire and support students with SEMH needs, making a meaningful impact on their lives.

What We Offer:

  • Flexible, supply-based work with opportunities for regular placements.
  • Supportive teams across both AP sites, committed to staff development and well-being.
  • An opportunity to develop specialised skills in SEMH education within a nurturing, inclusive setting.
  • DBS paid for by CER Education.
  • £300 Sign On Bonus if you’re coming to us from another agency with no obligation to leave them.

Join us in our mission to empower secondary-age students with SEMH needs and make a lasting, positive difference. Apply today and become part of a dedicated team focused on helping students reach their full potential!
