We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Primary Teacher to join our team in High Peak. You will be responsible for delivering, and assessing high-quality, inclusive lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Classes will be small and may have approximately 4-6 pupils in each. The timetable will allow for some pupils to be taught via one to one and some pupils will attend site for half days and have home teaching for the other half. The post will suit an experienced SEN primary teacher who is willing to be flexible to meet the needs of the pupils and the academy.

Applicants should have good knowledge and experience of working with disaffected pupils in a school or other alternative setting. An affinity for pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties is an essential quality for this challenging but rewarding opportunity. Applicants should be resilient, have high expectations, and a sense of humour. You must be able to build positive relationships with our pupils and think outside of the box. You will be responsible for contributing to a small staffing team to ensure that the site runs smoothly.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with SEN in a primary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEN best practices and legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
