Protective/ Public Services Lecturer | Full-Time | £31 to £35 per hour
One of CER’s partner colleges in Romford are looking for a Public Services Lecturer to join the teaching team at their Rush Green campus. Initially this role is to cover a vacant position until the end of the academic year
Duties include:
- Organise suitable guest speakers, educational visits and work placements
- Ensure an engaging and motivating learning experience for students through successful teaching and personal tutoring
- To make a significant contribution to curriculum development and course co-ordination
- To teach on programmes in other College service delivery areas as may be reasonably required
- Attend outward bound activities /overnight stays with learners
- Act as pastoral tutor and deliver themed tutorial sessions
- Provide 1-2-1 support to learners within tutorial process
- Regular meetings (Wed 3-4pm)
- Planning, designing and up-dating the programme and its materials and activities
- Delivering the study programme to meet awarding body requirements
To apply, you should have the following Essential skills and abilities:
- Experience of 2 years or more teaching BTEC Protective / Public Services
- Teaching Qualification: e.g. Diploma Level 5 Education and Training / Cert Ed, PGCE
- Industry experience in Police, Fire, Army or other relevant service.
- Understanding and experience of quality processes in relation to sampling internal verification etc.
- IQA qualifications Assessors Award
- Experience of residentials and overnight stays to deliver units e.g. outdoor activities
