Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) – Huyton

Salary: £83.33 – £96.72 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role:

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will support a Key Stage 1 pupil with special educational needs (SEN), providing personalised assistance and ensuring they thrive both academically and socially. This is a highly rewarding role where you will play a crucial part in helping the child access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support for a Key Stage 1 pupil with SEN.

Assist the child in their day-to-day learning and development, offering guidance and encouragement.

Collaborate with the class teacher to ensure that lesson plans are adapted to meet the pupil’s needs.

Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment for the child.

Monitor the child’s progress and communicate regularly with the SENCO, class teacher, and parents.

Use strategies to promote independence, confidence, and social interaction for the child.

Requirements:

Experience working in a primary school setting, ideally with Key Stage 1 pupils.

A genuine passion for working with children and supporting those with additional needs.

Strong understanding of SEN and experience in delivering 1:1 support.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

An enhanced DBS check and knowledge of safeguarding practices.
