Location: Barnsley
Contract: Flexible Supply – Part-Time & Full-Time work available
Salary: £85.00 – £120.00 p/day (dependent on experience)

Are you confident leading a classroom and passionate about education? We are looking for a reliable and adaptable Cover Supervisor to work across secondary schools in Barnsley. This flexible role offers part-time and full-time opportunities, with both short and long-term contracts available. This role consists of acting as the class teacher covering planned and unplanned teacher absences. All work will be left in advance for you to deliver to the class. If you’re confident, adaptable and quick-thinking, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role:

• Supervise classes in the absence of the teacher, ensuring students remain on task
• Deliver pre-set work and maintain a positive learning environment
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Support students with their learning as needed
• Work across different subjects and year groups

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with young people in a school or similar setting is desirable (backgrounds such as sports coaching, dance teachers etc are welcomed).
• Confidence in managing a classroom and engaging students
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A flexible and professional approach
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
