CER Education are currently recruiting for an experienced Attendance Officer to work in a secondary school in South Shields. This is a full-time position starting immediately and is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and organised professional with prior experience in a similar role.

The Role:

As an Attendance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the school to maintain high levels of attendance and punctuality. You will:

• Monitor and track student attendance daily
• Follow up on absences and lateness with parents/carers
• Maintain accurate attendance records using school systems
• Work closely with pastoral teams and senior leaders
• Produce attendance reports and identify patterns or concerns
• Support safeguarding and attendance procedures in line with school policies

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience working as an Attendance Officer (essential)
• Experience within a school setting, ideally secondary
• Strong administrative and organisational skills
• Excellent communication skills when liaising with parents and staff
• Knowledge of attendance management systems
• A proactive and professional approach
