Role Overview:

We are seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to a student with additional learning needs in our client’s school in Doncaster. You will play a vital role in enhancing the student’s educational experience, working closely with teachers and other support staff to implement effective strategies. This role requires patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to helping the student reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support to a student on a 1:1 basis, addressing their specific learning and behavioural needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching methods to suit the student’s requirements.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes the student’s engagement and confidence.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to develop and implement effective support strategies.
  • Monitor and report on the student’s progress, identifying areas for further development.
  • Support the student in accessing the curriculum, participating in classroom activities, and developing social skills.
  • Contribute to the preparation of resources and materials tailored to the student’s learning needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with additional needs, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to supporting individual needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are desirable but not essential.
