Early career teachers seeking jobs

Taking on supply work in your first years of training will give you the chance to experience a wider variety of schools and teaching environments, allowing you to expand your knowledge and feel confident in your new job.

Whether you have finished your ECT training, are completing your PGCE or are already training in a school, we are here to help you find a role that suits you.

If you are looking for supply work, our consultants can help you get started with the application process straight away and can provide you with interview preparation and CV writing support.

Your options as an ECT

Our dedicated teams specialise in placing you into the right schools by getting to know you and your preferences. Whether you are looking for a long-term position or supply teaching roles, we are ready to help you find your ideal job.

CER can provide you with different options:

  • Supply work. By working on a supply basis, you will be able to build your experience within several school settings and get a sense for the culture fit without a long-term commitment. This can be a great option for early career teachers who want to build up their confidence in the classroom. It also provides flexibility in terms of when and where to work.

  • long-term roles. With long-term roles, you will be able to assess whether the school is a right fit for you. It gives you time to settle into the environment without any permanent commitment. You will also receive a regular income and valuable references.
