About the Role

As a PE Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and school staff to support pupils during PE lessons, sports activities, and throughout the wider school day.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting teachers in delivering engaging PE lessons across a range of sports and activities
• Encouraging pupil participation, confidence, and teamwork
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required
• Assisting with behaviour management and student engagement
• Supporting pupils with additional learning or physical needs
• Helping to organise and supervise extracurricular sports clubs and school fixtures
• Setting up and putting away sports equipment safely
• Promoting a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
• Following safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times

About You

We’re looking for candidates who have:

• Experience working with children or young people in schools, coaching, sports clubs, or youth settings
• A genuine passion for sport, physical activity, and education
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to motivate and engage pupils of varying abilities
• A positive, proactive, and flexible attitude
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
• The ability to travel to schools across Sheffield (driving preferred but not essential)
