Children’s Residential Home Manager

Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per year

CER are thrilled to be working with one of our wonderful client Residential Homes based in Sheffield, South Yorks. Our client are seeking to appoint a Children’s Residential Home Manager to oversee the operations of one of their residential homes in S8. The childrens home provides high-quality residential care that offers safe and therapeutic environments where children can thrive.

Role Overview: As the Children’s Residential Home Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a residential home. Your primary focus will be ensuring the well-being, safety, and development of the children in your care, as well as managing a team of staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall functioning of the residential home.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Children’s Act 1989 and Children’s Home Regulations. Provide leadership and supervision to staff members.
  • Maintain effective communication with external agencies, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement care plans tailored to each child’s needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided.

Requirements:

  • Recognised qualification in social care (e.g. NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a relevant position.
  • Willingness to register as a manager with OFSTED.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working with children and young people with complex needs.
  • Ability to motivate, guide, and support children in their self-development.
