Our client, is a well respected Primary school in the Sefton area of Bootle. They are keen to appoint a qualified SENCO to lead, develop and support effective practice for their students with identified barriers to their learning (special educational needs, physical disabilities, EAL) to ensure that their learning needs are addressed effectively. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in a committed team and make a real impact on the outcome of their students. This role will start in February 2025 and will continue until July 2025.

The school is a large, well run mainstream school and it is 3 form entry. They offer excellent support with a strong team atmosphere. Onsite parking facilities, with access to additional ongoing training. This is a great opportunity with a view to go permanent for the right candidate.

We are looking for an SENCO who is:

  • An outstanding teacher, with a range of experience working with children with complex needs.
  • A strong leader who is committed to providing the highest standards of provision for SEND pupils.
  • Experienced in rigorous tracking and monitoring of children’s progress.
  • Experienced in working within the SEND code of practice.
  • An excellent communicator, with a strong commitment to working in partnership with parents, governors and the community.
  • Leading the planning and delivery of the National Curriculum
  • Providing professional guidance to all staff in the area of SEN and EAL students to ensure high standards of teaching and effective use of resources that improve the performance of all pupils
  • Co-ordinating the day to day operation of the schools SEN and EAL policy ensuring that details are recorded onto the SEN register of pupils giving cause for concern and that the appropriate actions, in line with the code of practise, are taken
  • Experienced in working with and alongside outside agencies
