About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced School Receptionist to join our team and work at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Sheffield. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who thrives in a dynamic and supportive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for students, parents, and visitors, providing a warm and professional welcome.
  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence efficiently.
  • Manage the school’s front desk and maintain a tidy and organised reception area.
  • Assist with administrative duties, including attendance records, filing, and data entry.
  • Coordinate meetings and appointments for school staff.
  • Support the school’s safeguarding procedures and ensure compliance with all relevant policies.
  • Assist with the coordination of school events and activities.
  • Provide administrative support to the SEN team as needed.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a receptionist or in an administrative role within a school setting is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using office software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A compassionate and understanding approach to working with children with special educational needs.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • A valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in an SEN school or with children with special educational needs.
  • Knowledge of SIMS (School Information Management System) or similar.
