Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) – Bootle

CER is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Bootle. This is a 1:1 support role working closely with a pupil who requires tailored learning support. This is a rewarding position that makes a real difference in a child’s educational journey.

Salary: £83.33 – £96.72 per day

About the Role:

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will support a Key Stage 1 pupil with special educational needs (SEN), providing personalised assistance and ensuring they thrive both academically and socially. This is a highly rewarding role where you will play a crucial part in helping the child access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support to a Key Stage 1 pupil with additional learning needs, ensuring they receive tailored guidance and encouragement.

Assist in creating a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, enabling the pupil to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies, monitor progress, and adapt learning plans as required.

Encourage positive behaviour management and promote the development of essential life skills.

Support with day-to-day classroom activities, including small group work when required.

Requirements:

Experience working in a primary school setting, ideally with Key Stage 1 pupils.

A genuine passion for working with children and supporting those with additional needs.

Strong understanding of SEN and experience in delivering 1:1 support.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

An enhanced DBS check and knowledge of safeguarding practices.
