Full-Time DT Teacher – Supply Contract

We are currently seeking a passionate and adaptable DT Teacher to join a secondary school in Rotherham on a full-time supply contract. This role involves delivering engaging DT lessons with a focus on engineering, using pre-set lesson plans. About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a variety of DT and engineering lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, using prepared materials with no additional planning required. This role is ideal for a teacher who enjoys focusing on teaching and engaging with students, without the additional workload of lesson planning and resource preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-set DT and engineering lessons, following provided lesson plans
  • Engage and motivate students in practical and theoretical aspects of DT and engineering
  • Manage the classroom effectively to create a positive and productive learning environment
  • Support students in developing hands-on skills and understanding of engineering principles
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and staff, contributing to the department’s goals

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK (or relevant teaching qualification)
  • Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary level, ideally with an engineering focus
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students in practical activities
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work within a supply role
  • Commitment to supporting students’ learning in a structured and positive environment
