We are on the look out for an individual to take on the role of Behaviour Support Assisstant at an Alternative Provision school in the Wakefield area. Your role will consist of assisting in developing appropriate and relevant mentoring programmes for students who have found mainstream school challanging and have barriers to learning. You will provide support in addressing the needs of students whilst been responsible for behaviour, expectations and assissting in raising attainment within the school setting.
Responsibilities include:
– Monitoring the implementation and impact of the school’s behaviour policy and inclusion strategy to ensure that all students progress and flourish.
– Assissting and supporting the class leader with challenging behaviour.
– Providing additional pastoral support to students and participate, where relevant, in the assessment of their needs. – Monitoring the implementation and impact of the school’s behaviour policy.
– Ensuring effective communication between all staff regarding student behaviour.
– Demonstrate commitment to correct safeguarding procedures. To ensure the safety and well being of all students.
Requirements include:
– Experience working with children and young people.
– Experience of working with students with additional needs
– Experience of working with students with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties.
– Experience of line management/supervisory role.
– Transferable skills may be considered.
