1:1 Teaching Assistant – Huyton

CER are currently recruitng for a Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child who has down syndrome at a Primary School in Huyton.

CER Education are currently looking for a highly motivated and engaging Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Early Years pupil. The ideal candidate will have Makaton experience, but this is not essential.

Full time hours working 8:30-3:30 Monday to Friday.

Job Responsibilities

• Working on a 1:1 basis with an EY child with down syndrome
• Provide personal care
• Have a positive and creative approach to behaviour and confidence building
• Keeping the child focused and engaged in their learning using different tools and methods
• Liaising with the relevant class teachers and providing support where required

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with SEN/Disabilities
• Confidence supporting children and young people with different types of Special Educational Needs
• Understanding of OFSTED requirements
• Understanding of Safeguarding
• Have a DBS on the update service or be willing to complete and pay for a new DBS application
