Learning Support Assistant

£100-£120 per day
CER are working in partnership with a College in Bradford who are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support students with SEMH from 9:00am to 4:00pm for the rest of the academic year.
The role is for animal lovers! Half of the timetable will be supporting with the Animal Management courses so you must happy and confident around animals (eg; hamsters, rats, snakes, spiders, frogs, fish etc) and the other half of the timetable will be supporting with Maths and English.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide personalised support to students with ASD, LD, and SEMH, helping them engage with their learning
– Assist with the planning and delivery of lessons, adapting activities to meet individual needs
– Support students both in the classroom and in specialist interventions, ensuring they feel included and valued
– Foster a safe and nurturing environment that promotes emotional and social development
– Help manage challenging behaviour in line with school policies, using appropriate de-escalation techniques
Requirements:
– Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly ASD, LD, or SEMH
– Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills to build meaningful relationships with students
– Ability to work well as part of a team, supporting teachers and contributing to a positive school environment
– Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
– A commitment to providing a supportive and inclusive learning experience for all students
