English Teacher

Location: Rotherham Secondary School

Pay: £162.31 – £223.62 per day DOE

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Rotherham. Our partnership school is an 11-18 school including a sixth form. They are a genuine comprehensive school, catering for students of a wide range of abilities, needs, aspirations and backgrounds. This role is offered via our agency on a full-time, long-term basis, with the potential to become a permanent position if mutually agreeable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective English lessons to secondary school students, following the national curriculum.
  • Inspire and challenge students to achieve their full potential in English.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess work in line with school policies to ensure pupil progress.
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and foster a positive learning environment.
  • Participate actively in school life, including parents’ evenings and staff meetings.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience teaching English at secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and a passion for the subject.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Ability to start promptly and commit to a full-time schedule.
