About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Newton Aycliffe. This is a full-time position working through an education agency initially, with the potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.

You will be supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 (depending on experience), helping to create a positive learning environment and assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson delivery
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and promote progress
• Help manage behaviour and maintain a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment
• Assist with preparation of learning materials and classroom resources
• Contribute to assessments and record keeping as required

Requirements

✅ Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)

✅ Experience working in a primary school setting

✅ Strong communication and interpersonal skills

✅ A proactive, flexible, and nurturing approach

✅ An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
