CER Education is seeking a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in Pontefract, supporting students with PMLD and complex autism. In this rewarding role, you will provide essential support to students with complex needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Our partner school in Pontefract is dedicated to creating tailored learning experiences for students with PMLD and autism, focusing on developing independence, communication skills, and emotional well-being. As an SEN TA, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and specialists to provide personalised, hands-on support that makes a real impact on students’ lives.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and group support to students with PMLD and autism, assisting with learning, communication, and personal care as required
* Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the unique needs of each student
* Work closely with teachers and the SEN team to implement education care plans and monitor progress
* Assist with sensory and therapeutic activities that support both the physical and emotional development of students
* Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that promotes positive relationships and well-being
* Assist with the physical, medical, and emotional needs of students, including mobility, feeding, and personal care, as well as behaviour management

Requirements:
* Experience working with children with PMLD, autism, or in a similar SEN setting
* Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust and connection with students
* Ability to work well in a team and contribute to a positive and collaborative school environment
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
