Science Teacher – Full Time (Temporary Contract)

Salary: Main Pay Scale / UPS (depending on experience)

Contract: Full Time, Temporary

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Sunderland. This is a full-time temporary position, starting as soon as possible, teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to inspire and engage students through dynamic and creative science lessons, helping them develop a lifelong interest in the subject.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4 (any specialism – Biology, Chemistry, or Physics – welcomed).
  • Assess, track, and support pupil progress effectively.
  • Contribute to the Science department’s resources and development.
  • Take part in wider school activities and uphold the school’s values.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
  • Experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for inspiring young people and fostering a love of Science.
