CER are looking for a reliable, hardworking and friendly caretaker to join one of our partnership schools in Doncaster, DN2 and help them maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff and visitors. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a caretaker, or a similar background.

As a caretaker, you will be responsible for:

• Cleaning the school premises and grounds, or supervising a team of cleaners
• Performing basic repairs and maintenance tasks, or arranging for contractors to carry out major works
• Checking and operating the school’s security, heating, lighting and alarm systems
• Managing the school’s inventory of cleaning materials, tools and furniture
• Opening and closing the school, and ensuring the security of the buildings and grounds
• Liaising with the headteacher, staff, governors, parents and external agencies as required

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Basic skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and painting
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• A positive and flexible attitude
• A commitment to the school’s vision and values

The working hours are 37.5 per week, on a shift basis. The role is due to begin as soon as possible. Please note that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
