About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated PE Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Gateshead. This full-time position is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher who can inspire and motivate students to achieve their best in Physical Education.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, promoting health, fitness, teamwork, and personal development. You’ll work within a supportive department that values collaboration, creativity, and excellence in teaching and learning.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality PE lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Inspire and motivate students to participate and achieve their potential
• Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress effectively
• Contribute to extracurricular sports clubs, teams, and school events
• Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the PE curriculum and whole-school life

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Physical Education (or equivalent)
• Experience teaching PE at secondary level (KS3 and KS4)
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• Commitment to promoting physical activity and wellbeing among young people
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
