Primary School Special Needs Teaching Assistant | Luton | Temp-to-Perm Contract

CER are working in partnership with a Primary School in Luton to appoint a Teaching Assistant on a temporary basis which will likely turn into a permanent role with the school directly. As a temporary Primary School Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will support learners with Moderate Learning Difficulties in a Primary School setting on a one-to-one basis.

We are also keen to speak to Early Career Teaching Assistants who have just graduated and are looking to kick start their careers. We have a number of exciting opportunities available, with full support to help you transition into the classroom for 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting lessons across the curriculum while helping to differentiate and adapt where appropriate given students’ EHCPs
  • Adapt to different school environments showing a flexibility and resilience
  • Utilise a variety of support methods and resources to facilitate active learning and promote student engagement
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the curriculum

Ideally you will have:

  • Teaching Assistant Qualification
  • Previous experience supporting in a UK based school is essential for this role and references will need to be submitted
  • Experience supporting special needs learners
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their full potential
