Job Title: Children’s Support Worker / Learning Support Assistant

Location: South Tyneside

Pay: £90 – £110

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30

CER is looking for an enthusiastic and caring Children’s Support Worker to join a primary school in South Tyneside. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with a range of special educational needs (SEN), including Autism (ASD), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).

You will play a key role in helping students to engage in learning, build confidence, and develop essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to students with SEN
• Assist with classroom activities and individual learning
• Build positive relationships with students and staff
• Support behaviour management and emotional regulation
• Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive learning environment

Requirements

• Experience working with children or adults with special educational needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, resilience, and adaptability
• A relevant qualification is beneficial but not essential
