Contract Type: Long-Term, Full-Time with the potential for this role to be made permanent

About the Role: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join one of our vibrant partnership schools in Barnsley. This is a long-term, full-time position ideal for an individual committed to inspiring students and fostering a love for English literature and language. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that cater to a diverse student body, ensuring every student reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Develop and implement creative teaching strategies that engage students and encourage a love of learning.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their academic goals.
  • Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and participate in department meetings.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting respect and understanding among students.
  • Support students in their preparation for exams, coursework, and other assessments.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events to enrich the student experience.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in English or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching English at secondary school level, including A-Level experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development.
