Salary: Main Pay Scale / UPS (depending on experience)

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join our friendly and forward-thinking secondary school in Northumberland. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to inspire creativity, innovation, and practical problem-solving skills in students across KS3 and KS4.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across a range of DT specialisms (Resistant Materials, Product Design, or Graphics), while fostering a supportive and stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Encourage creativity and independent thinking through hands-on learning and practical projects.
• Assess, record, and report on student progress in accordance with school policies.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular clubs and enrichment activities.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop innovative teaching resources and schemes of work.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
• Experience teaching DT at KS3 and KS4 (experience with exam groups desirable).
• Strong subject knowledge and commitment to inspiring young learners.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• A proactive and positive approach to professional development and teamwork.
